Tuesday

WOD was the Cheif! 3 power cleans, 6 push ups, 9 squats-3 min on, 1 min rest 5 rounds. Scored a 20 going with 100lbs on the PC's. Very happy with the push. I didn't think I would be able to last but pulled it through. Extra work was heavy deadlifts. warm up then 225, 255, 255, 265 x 3 missed each time. I am so stubborn sometimes I tell you. I really wanted to get that 265 but my body was saying other things this morning. Next time.

Monday-Already?

WOD was sprinting! 200m, 1 min rest, 400m, 2 min rest, 800m, 3 min, 800m, 3 min, 400m 2 min, 200m. Stayed with in my 5 sec. Extra work was Overhead Squats. Actually very happy with my OH's today! Warm up then 75, 85, 95, 100, 105, 105, 97, 100, 95, 85, 75. Hit the Sauna with Sarah and started the day off on a good foot. Love the sweat of the sauna.

3:30-same darn meal!

8pm-Cheese, 3 strawberries, a few veggies with hummus, almonds

Feeling super full like I ate way too much today. I think it was b/c my meals were so close together. I for sure didn't need the 8pm snack but I was at work and packing up the food from the event.

Saturday/Sunday

Up with super good sleep!! I love when that happens. Headed to the gym for some practice with my power cleans. It's coming but still not there yet. Did a little 45 min. sauna session with Sarah which was fabulous I must say. I love sweatin' out all of my toxins. Got a massage and am now at work. It would've been a perfect day if I didn't have to work!

Ate good the rest of the day and night while I was working. No diet soda to stay awake which was huge!

A little disappointed I couldn't sleep in Sunday but it's all good. I'm tired today and the rain didn't help anything. No pool time on my one day off :( Ate good all day but added a little too much pb at the end of the evening.

Friday

Up with not so much sleep. WOD was long shoulder press 1-1-1-1-1, Push Press 3-3-3-3-3-, Push Jerk 5-5-5-5-5. I would be lying if I said I was happy with my progress on these lifts. My shoulders have been bothering me on all of my overhead lifts. Today was no exception. Shoulder press got up to 90lbs, push press 115, jerk stayed at 95 the entire time. I will need to gain flexibility in my shoulders to move forward in any of these lifts. Shout out to Sarah for nailing her new PR's. Way to go girl, you are strong!!!

Thursday

Woke up this morning feeling pretty beat up from Eva. Sore all over. WOD was 500m Row, 25 SDLHP, run 400M, 50 WBS at 14lbs, 400m Run, 25 SDLHP, 500M row. Solid workout no break. Extra work was deadlifts heavy 5 sets of 5. 205, 205, 165, 205, 205. 3rd set went down to work on loading of the hamstrings. Feel as though I am not doing that enough and need to practice it. It could be why the bar is so far away from me on my cleans.

Wednesday

Holy crap now that was a triple! WOD was Eva- 5 rounds of 800m run, 30 KBS at 24kl, 30 pull ups. Finished in 48 minutes. Ouch. Tore the hands a little bit but no where near Hip Kitty. Damn girl, I give you props for pulling through with the wounds.

I wasn't able to eat lunch today until 2pm and I thought I was going to serious eat my arm off. I was starving! I had a luncheon and fashion show today that went extra long and I couldn't sneak away even for a bite. The event was a huge success so it's all good. I just hate waiting that long to eat b/c I get snap happy and my patience is very low!! All is well now that i've eaten :)

Tuesday

Nice sleep last night! WOD was sprints 400m with 2 min rest in between. 5 rounds then 50 burpees for time. Ouch! Did well with the 5 rounds 1:24, 1:19, 1:21, 1:22, 1:22. 4:58 on the burpees for time. Did sets of 10 with a 10 sec rest in between. Probably should've just gone without a break in between 4 &5 but I was dying! Extra work-I am kind of sick, but I think extra work and I know hip kitty does too! Heavy squats sets of 10-115, 135, 145, 145, 145, 155. It doesn't seem like a lot of weight but when you are doing sets of 10 it wears you out!!

Monday

WOD was squat cleans. Warm up 45, 65, 85, 95, 105. First round missed at 115, 115, 125, 135, 145, 150 missed. I totally went for it today with the 150. It's ok though, it's good to feel the weight even though I missed it forward. Elbows! Push Jerks to follow. 95, 105 missed, 105, 105, 105, 105, 110. My shoulders were killing me today. Shooting pain down the outside of both shoulders during the squat cleans and the jerks. Really hurt me in the jerks. Couldn't even get close to normal weight. Can feel them right now. Not cool. Shout out to Hip Kitty who blew it out of the park this morning. Setting 2 new pr's...way to go girl!

So yesterday I pretty much ate clean all day. Didn't have to work so I was able to enjoy the sunshine for a few hours! I was able to get some sleep last night...felt good. Today I have to head into work for a little bit.

Friday

So glad it's Friday. This week actually went fast for me. Maybe b/c I missed a few workouts, not sure but I know I'm glad cause it's Friday. This is our last week of light work, next week starts the grind again. I'm excited as it's the last push before the qualifier. When I do a lot of work I tend to keep my diet dialed in so I'm pumped about that. Feeling much better today as I got up for the work out. WOD was 20 min. AMRAP 20 squats, 15 push ups, 10 rack rows. I was doing so well keeping up with HK and then feel a little behind with my push ups. Overall very happy with the work today. Nice job Hip Kitty way to end the week!! Excited about the 1/2 day of work and 1/2 day at the Yankees vs. Twins game. Finally a perk to my jobby job!

Thursday

So lucky this morning as my alarm went off and I got up my power went out! Good thing I was organized and had everything laid out for me this morning. Nothing like getting ready to candles and a flashlight. WOD was Nancy. This one is a challenge for me every time. My stabilizer muscles are not the strongest over head. 5 rounds of 400m run, 15 OHS at 65lbs. 15:35 but it was not pretty. Dropped the bar behind me on the last round.

Wednesday

So this morning I was not feeling good and did not make it to crossfit. I must be honest and tell you why...Tuesday night talked myself out of going to yoga b/c I was extremely tired. Went home and pretty much had a melt down. I ate a bunch of junk and I mean a bunch and then did not feel well. Woke up in the middle of the night with stomach pains. NASTY! Decided that I was in no shape to go workout and just wanted to sleep. Didn't make it last that night either. Felt really guilty for what I had done and was miserable all day. I know it's not the end of the world but I felt like all of the hard work I had been doing just all came undone and I was depressed about it. After talking with Chad and him being super supportive I am getting back to feeling better about it. Although in the back of my mind I only have 5 weeks to get to where I need to be for the qualifier. The next month is going to be a true test of physical and mental strength. My work schedule is very hectic as it is the last push for the end of season. Why I schedule things back to back is beyond me at the time I think it's a good idea but looking over the calendar I realize that I might be trouble. I know I can do it, I just need to stay consistant with sleep and releaving stress.

WOD was burpees and running-21-18-15-12-9-6-3, 200m run each round. Finished in 13:48 totally felt tired and slow this am but pushed myself through it. It's going to be a challenging week but only 3 more workouts and I'm done. Only have to work a 1/2 day on Sunday this weekend, so I'll be able to rest.

Didn't want to get out of bed this morning as I am super tired! No workout for me, this will be a day of rest. Had a major cheat last night. For dinner cookies and ice cream. It's been a while and I knew it was coming, it just got a little out of control. It's out of my system now and with less than 6 weeks until competition it's game time baby!!

The Pre-Qualifier Weekend

So this weekend we ran a little pre-qualifier of our own to practice for the competition in April. Saturday I ran a 5k in the morning. Exact time is still a mystery but it's somewhere around 25:40 or so. Noon did 5 rounds of 5-185lbs deadlifts, 5 burpees, in 3 min. flat 5pm-Narf. Fran backwards. 9 pull ups, 9 thrusters, 15 pull ups, 15 thrusters, 21 pull ups, 21 thrusters-6:46. Sunday at 9am 1,000M row, 5 rounds of 25 push ups, 7 push jerks at 85lbs in 20 minutes. Missed completion by 7 push jerks. Kinds of pissed but know that I really gave it all I had left. The push ups kicked my butt. As the day goes on my body becomes more and more sore. I have a massage scheduled in a little bit so I am hoping that will help. Laid out by the pool for 2 hours today which was a nice break. Somewhere need to find time to go shopping and prep my meals for the week. I'm thinking that might not happen today!
Ate super good yesterday, today I feel like I can have a cheat meal but not sure what it will be yet. Overall great weekend and shout out to Sarah and Mindy who joined in the fun this weekend. You guys rock, thanks for the love!!

Got about 9 hours of sleep last night which I think is a record for it being season! I totally didn't want to come into work, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

So glad it's Thursday and no wod tomorrow for me...that means sleep!! WOD today was Annie. So happy with my D/U's today. I got 20 in a row on the first go, that's huge. I still didn't beat my time from August but I feel as though my D/U's are back. WHoooo HOooo.

Laundry list today! 50 air squats, 400m run, 50 push ups, 50 Walking lunges, 400m run, 25 pull ups--chest to bar!, 50 KBS at 24kl, 25 pull ups, 400m run, 50 lunges, 50 push ups, 400m run, 50 air squats. 30:50 glad that's over. The pull ups slowed me down as I was doing chest to bar today. Gosh that makes such a difference. 1st set of 25 was good, 2nd set I could only rep out 5 at a time.

Up with good sleep but still draggin ass this morning. I feel like I need a whole day of just sleep! WOD was every minute on the minute for 20 minutes up it one rep each round. Clean N Jerk & Burpees. Made it to 7 the first go then 6 and 6. Ended up with a 115. Wanted to complete both 6th rounds came close but didn't make it.

Monday

Good weekend but still felt tired as I got up today. I think I'll be able to catch up this week on rest as I have been instructed NO extra work. Isn't is awful that I still want to do stuff after class? I know I'm sick. Anyhow WOD was 2,000M row for time. 7:49.8 was my time. Not too shabby. Would like to work on my rowing abilities, still playing with the damper. Weighed in today am down to 156 whoo hoo. Slowly but shirley I tell you. 6 pounds in 40 days...doable, but it takes me forever to lose weight so I've got to focus!!

Sunday

Up earlier than I wanted this morning. The back was tight and I couldn't lay in bed anymore. I played catch up today as I only have one day to do everything-laundry, shopping, meals, pedicure, nap..yes!

Very happy as I ate pretty darn clean this weekend. It's been a while since I did that so I'm happy with my focus. Need another clean week as I have a mini qualifier event next weekend. 4 wods in 2 days...yikes! This week I need to focus on rest, sleep and nutrition big time!

Friday-New Day!

So glad it's a new day today! Got the grumpies out and feel a lot better--still tired though. Ate good yesterday-maybe a little over on protein blocks but for the most part good. I have it in my head to keep my diet clean for the next 2 weeks so I must!!! No cheats this weekend. WOD was Push Jerk heavy for 1-1-1-1-1. 105, 105, 115,115, 125, 135 missed on that twice. Felt like I could have got it though, so close! Extra work will be tonight.

Extra work was Power Cleans-Warm up then 105, 115, 125, 135 missed, 135, 145, 145. Super happy with my work tonight as I got a PR on the power cleans. Although it turned into a Squat power clean I still caught the weight and stood with it...YEAH!

Cranky Thursday

WOW was I in a crappy mood this morning. Sorry guys! Still kind of am but trying to get over it. My body is sore, I'm tired and stressed out from work--not a good combo. Looking forward to sleeping in on Sunday. Must work Saturday :( WOD today was 15 minutes AMRAP- 500m row once then 10 burpees, 10 D/U's. So last time I did D/U's on the 2/14 I did well so I wasn't too worried. This morning nothing was going right. First I thought it was the rope, then I kept hitting my pony tail...did I grow like 3 inches in a month or what?? I just couldn't get it together, what are you gonna do?? Extra work was weighted lunges with 20lbs, 100 feet 5 times. Coach I think I am finally over trained.

Wednesday

WOD was a killer for me. I found myself not being as mentally strong as normal and taking breaks too often. I think I am just whipped. Kelly-5 rounds of 400m, 30 box jumps at 24", 30 WBS at 20lbs. 32:04 was my time and I felt every minute of it. Shout out to Sarah for really pushing it this morning!

So I have been slim on some meals with the nuts and after talking with J this morning it's not a good idea for me. I am slowly getting over the fact that more protein is not the way to go, just add fat instead. It's hard for my silly brain to understand but I am working on it. I will not feel guilty for eating all of my fat blocks anymore :)

Tuesday

Up with not enough sleep. I got sucked into 24 last night as it was a 2 hour special!! WOD was squats and rower. 10 squats at 145lbs, 250 m row--4 rounds. Squats were challenging today for me. I was able to keep the rower right at 50 sec each round which was cool. Extra credit today was deadlifts at same weight reps of 10. Still working on holding the breath the entire lift. It's getting better and so is not getting so light headed. Progress.

WOD was hang squat cleans heavy for 1-1-1-1-1. Worked up to 135. Missed at 125 once, got it, got 135 missed at 145 twice. Extra work was bench press with dumbbells 30, 40 ,50 , 40, 30. Day off got a massage, did a little shopping with S, finally got some new kicks and totally spent too much money today!!

Super tired and couldn't sleep in. Feel like I need a nap here in a little bit. Prepared my food for the week and a bunch of stuff around the house. The washer/dryer combo broke at the condo so we were running around this morning finding a new one and replacing the old. YUCK.
